Over 200 Scholarships Awarded!
The Open Door is proud to announce that as of December 31, 2002,
NACCB Chapters have distributed 258 scholarships to students at
58 educational institutions.
The Open Door Education Foundation is thrilled with the impressive
backgrounds and achievements of our
Open Door Scholarship Recipients.
We will continue to work closely with the NACCB Chapters in creating
scholarship programs that meet the needs of our sponsors, the IT
industry, and, most importantly, the needs of our future IT professionals.
Funds designated for Open Door Scholarships can be distributed
to a sponsor's chosen region (through an NACCB Chapter), or on a national
basis. The Open Door Education Foundation will work closely with
our valued sponsors to create scholarship programs that best fit
their needs.

Public Outreach
The Open Door Education Foundation is actively involved in educating
the public about the IT industry.
Funds from Open Door Technology Challenge directly support the ongoing operation
and improvements of the web site you are visiting. This web site
is a dynamic on-line vehicle that promotes IT education and careers.
Open Door is seeking additional funding to support new education
outreach programs that will excite, encourage and educate young people, their teachers,
parents, back-to-work Moms, second career adults, and, just about
anyone interested in learning more about careers in information
technology.

Open Door's Future
The Open Door is embarking on an ambitious fundraising campaign
with the goal to raise $5 million by 2010 for the Sustaining Member Campaign.
This Fund will allow the Open Door to continue
in perpetuity, providing the support necessary to achieve our mission. It will establish the Open Door as a self-funding entity.

Working For You
As with all organizations, some of the Foundation's funds must
be used to run the foundation itself.
Here are some of the things we do to ensure that the majority of
your funds directly support IT education and educational programs:
- Control our staff size and related expenses. One way that NACCB
supports our work is by providing space and necessary support
services for our small staff at extremely reasonable rates.
- Use all available donated services - for everything from designing
our brochures and making our pins to creating and supporting this
web site (our thanks to the hard work and generosity of Outweb,
Inc. of Atlanta, Georgia, providing this site pro bono) for three years.
- Depend upon our hard-working board members for volunteer labor
at all levels - and upon their generosity as they never request
or receive reimbursement for the travel and related expenses they
incur while serving the Open Door.
- Depend upon our hard-working NACCB Chapter Reps who work with
the schools in their communities to identify the scholarship recipients
and to award the scholarships.
The doors to our offices are always open to our sponsors and the
public.
