My Job Description…
I help my clients identify business opportunities within their industries; in other words, I discover a need for a new product in business and technology. Through research, I determine whether their ideas are 'good ones.' I analyze my clients' competitors and the market for possible products. Through my analysis, I help my clients develop business strategies that make the most of technology and market opportunities.

And How I Got It…
I graduated from college and thought long and hard about what I wanted to do. It was the summer of 1999, and the Internet was all the craze. I knew I enjoyed interacting with people … working with them toward a common goal. I was also interested in technology and visualizing new businesses, so I thought, "Why not? I'll give this Internet thing try." I networked heavily through my friends and counselors at school. Through our combined efforts, I identified a company and position that sounded perfect for me. I interviewed and was hired. During the year I have been in this position, I have worked on projects with start-up companies, dot-coms, not-for-profit organizations, and Fortune 1000 companies.

Since I was a recent B.B.A graduate, I wanted to test my 'academic' knowledge in the 'real world' work place. I had spent much of my college career learning about various aspects of business, from marketing to finance to operations. It all made sense, of course, but it was only a theoretical concept to me. I wanted to see how to apply those concepts and skills. During the year I have been working, I have really benefited from those business courses, and I'm delighted to really be using my education.

And Why I Was Well Suited For It (And It For Me)…
Being a people person, I thrive on daily interaction. I have enjoyed learning from and working with my team members. I also enjoy helping our clients. It is a great feeling to know that you helped someone do something better, make more money, become more efficient, or leverage wireless and Internet technology for the benefit of their business. I often work in a 'support' capacity to the project manager, doing whatever needs to be done, but I feel that my efforts always add value and are critical to the success of the project.

Three people reached out to me and mentored me along the way. They taught me the philosophy "work hard, play hard." As a team, we worked hard to meet our client deadlines. But to alleviate tensions, we also teamed up to pull practical jokes on our colleagues. All of these interactions created a solid, motivated and dedicated strategic services team.

When I’m Not Working, I’m…
Playing with my dog Lucy (a very curious pug), as well as cooking...often at the same time! I enjoy taking Lucy to new places, laughing at her reactions. I also love entertaining; friends and food are always a good mix.
