ContractJobHunter.com Offers Scholarships to University of Washington,
Bothell Students
Bothell, Washington - For the first time, the Northwest Chapter
of the National Association of Computer Consultant Businesses will
be awarding money to students in the Computing and Software Systems
(CSS) program at the University of Washington, Bothell. The NACCB's
endowment association, The Open Door Education Foundation, distributes
scholarships nationwide to students pursuing degrees in the Information
Technology arena. On Wednesday, April 4, at 4:30 PM at the University
of Washington, Bothell, an awards ceremony will be held for the
winners of a scholarship of up to $5,000.
The public is invited to attend the awards ceremony. It will be
held in the Norman J. Rose Room, UQ1 280. (Directions to the University

or you can call 425-352-5000.) Attendees will include sponsors Jerry
and Jan Erickson, Representative Kathy Lambert from the 45th District,
award recipients and their family members and friends, and scholarship
committee members. Chancellor Warren Buck will welcome those attending
the awards ceremony.

The scholarship committee that selects the winners of the scholarship
award includes Gayle Purintun of Issaquah, the Northwest Chapter
Representative of the Open Door Education Foundation and Shari Glory
of Macrostaff in Bellevue, also a Northwest Chapter Representative.
"Currently there is a huge demand for individuals in the Information
Technology field. I feel honored to be a part of efforts to encourage
America's youth to pursue Computer Science degrees and careers,"
Purintun said. "The difficult part will be choosing the winners
of this award, as the UW Bothell students are highly qualified."
Winners are selected from a pool of candidates on the basis of
overall GPA, GPA for computer-related classes, financial need, and
extra-curricular activities involving computers, school service,
community service, and work experience.
The University of Washington, Bothell sincerely thanks the Ericksons
for their gracious donation, which will greatly encourage and facilitate
the educational and career endeavors of students in the Computing
and Software Systems program at UW Bothell.
