* The web site reaches out to students who may have avoided computer technology.

* This on-line "educational hub" links students to interest and aptitude tests and to useful information about IT jobs, scholarships and internships.

* Site addresses problem that fewer than 5% of US college graduates are earning IT degrees.

ALEXANDRIA, VA - The Open Door Education Foundation today unveiled a unique new web site, www.keys2it.org, designed to attract and encourage students of all ages to explore the many careers within the Information Technology (IT) field.

"This resource will introduce site visitors to the benefits of a career in IT, " said Grace Gentry, Open Door President and Founder. "We intend for www.keys2it.org to give users the facts they need to make an informed decision about whether an IT career is the right choice for them. We created the site to be used by high school students and their parents and counselors, by students at 2 year and 4 year colleges and universities, and by anyone who is considering a career change."

The site serves as an "educational hub" containing may useful features conveniently collected in one place, including interest and aptitude tests, links for IT scholarships, resume-writing and interview tips, a career center, and success stories for young professionals in the IT field.

This educational resource was created in response to the nation's current need for skilled IT workers. Today, fewer than five percent of graduating college students are earning degrees in IT. And despite recent downturns in the technology sector, companies will continue to require skilled professionals in order to succeed in today's fast-paced global economy.

The www.keys2it.org site was designed pro bono by Outweb Inc. of Atlanta, GA. Outweb Inc. offers custom Internet and wireless software application development. To learn more about Outweb, please visit www.outweb.com.
